Can wheel chocks be used on a slope?

A: Yes. For situations where wheel chocks are commonly used on slopes, we recommend using rubber wheel chocks that feature a high coefficient of friction on both the surface and the base. When using them, please note that when the vehicle is going uphill, the wheel chock should be placed under the rear wheels, and when going downhill, it should be placed under the front wheels. Try to ensure that a wheel chock is placed on the outer side of each tire. On very steep slopes, you will need to increase the number of wheel chocks used.

Why are wheel chocks still needed for parked trucks during forklift or loading/unloading operations?

A: Vehicles used for loading and unloading goods are heavy and thereby have significant inertia, so the brakes may loosen or the vehicle may slip slightly. Heavy-duty wheel chocks help secure the position of trucks, forklifts, trailers, and other vehicles by increasing the contact area between tire and wheel chocks and increasing the friction between the tires and the ground.

Where should a wheel chock be placed to provide maximum braking effectiveness?

A: The placement of wheel chocks depends on the ground conditions and the type of vehicle. On hard, level surfaces, standard wheel chocks can be placed as usual. On slopes, dirt, gravel, or slippery surfaces, we recommend using wheel chocks with a wider base and anti-slip features. On oily or icy surfaces, heavy-duty rubber wheel chocks are recommended. In scenarios requiring a high safety margin, such as airports and docks, we recommend using multiple high-visibility reflective wheel chocks. After placement, gently press down on the tire to ensure the wheel chock is in full contact with the surface. Use in conjunction with the vehicle’s braking system.
